He's Spooky Offspring Dominate DSBF 2nd Leg09/26/2018 5:33 PM - Offspring of sire He's Spooky won three of the four $20,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) divisions for 2-year-old trotters Wednesday at Harrington Raceway. Mist Stable's Go Jetem ($10, Art Stafford Jr.) took the first division for colts and geldings in 2:05.3. The He's Spooky gelding collared pacesetter Dr Grinch late for a narrow win. Sherman's Way was third. Go Jetem notched his first career win for trainer Jim Thompson. The fastest division went to unbeaten Embrace The Grind ($2.20, Jon Roberts) for Andrew Glassmeyer, who was a 2:02.4 winner over Rich N Royal and Just As Striking. The Keystone Activator gelding improved to 3-for-3 in his career. Glassmeyer and Roberts teamed up for two wins in stakes action. Roberts had a hat trick on the program. The first of two filly divisions went to Mark Groce's She's Spooky ($3.80, Ross Wolfenden) over Star Time and Bella's Party Punk in 2:04.1. Trained by Groce, it was the first career win for the home bred daughter of He's Spooky. In the second division, Glassmeyer's Dark Dutchess ($9.20, Jon Roberts) was a wire-to-wire winner in 2:04.4 in a tight finish over Command The Day and Disco Soleil. A daughter of He's Spooky, it was her first career win for her owner/trainer. The $100,000 final events for all DSBF 2-year-olds is Wednesday October 3. The meet's leading driver, Victor Kirby, fresh off a five win night Tuesday, scored his third win of four on the card aboard Zippett Racing Stable's Murmur Hanover ($3, Kirby) in the $15,000 Open Trot in 1:56.3. The 8-year-old Majestic Son gelding recorded his 32nd career win via a front end performance, where he held off runner-up Theresademoninme and third place Gillie The Kid. Mike Cole, Stafford Jr. and Wolfenden each had a double. |
