Louis Catana and Vincent Bradley's Matinee Dragon ($13.20) won the $11,000 feature and was one of four driving wins on the program for Victor Kirby at Harrington Raceway Tuesday.
The 6-year-old Dragon Again mare set the pace and never relented in her two length win over Annabeth and Playncardswitroddy. It was the 11th training win of the meet for co-owner Vincent Bradley, while her Matinee Dragon's driver notched his third win on the 10 race program. Kirby's previous win came aboard a mare he co-owned and trained, free-legged pacer Caviart Cari Ann ($20) who was a 1:53.2 winner. He also won the first race on the program with Bliss and Luck ($3.40) and ninth with Hardscrabble Tilly ($5.80).
Driver Jim Morand, winner of 9,316 races in his career, did something that is not easily accomplished on a half-mile track. Morand won back-to-back races from post position eight in races six and seven aboard Truth Isalwaysbest ($7) and Dallas Jones ($4.40).
Kirby (79 wins) is currently second in the driving standings at the meet behind Tony Morgan (83 wins). Morgan, winner of 15,566 races in his career, ranks second all-time among North American drivers.
Joe Hundertpfund Jr. (24 wins) maintains a lead in the trainer standings over Willard Reynolds (17 wins). There are 26 live racing days remaining at the 2016 meet.
