Lorrie Please takes Tuesday feature08/27/2013 6:45 PM - Lorrie Please ($3.40, George Dennis) earned her ninth win of the season with a 1:53.2 triumph in the featured $19,000 Mares Open Tuesday at Harrington Raceway.
Trained by Doug Lewis for owners Allen and Ira Kaplan and David Sheib, the 6-year-old Western Ideal mare was sent for the early lead from her rail post position and fought off a fierce charge from Monochromatic through the stretch to hold on for a narrow margin of victory. Melissa’s Fancy finished third.
Lorrie Please boosted her seasonal bankroll to nearly $130,000. It was one of four driving winners for Harrington’s leading driver, George Dennis. |
