Spunky Vic surges, upsets Wednesday10/06/2010 8:11 PM - Arty Foster’s Spunky Vic ($11.40, Tony Morgan) used a powerful late surge to achieve his fourth win in 2010 with a 1:57.3 score in the $22,000 Open Trot at Harrington Raceway Wednesday.
The 6-year-old Valley Victor gelding reeled in favorite and pacesetter Nordic Venture in the final strides for the win. Nordic Venture held second while Man About Town was a close third. Spunky Vic has banked more than $90,000 this year for owner/trainer Foster.
Drivers Victor Kirby and George Dennis won three races on the program. |
