Allmar Surprise wins third straight10/21/2009 7:57 PM - Victor Kirby and Matthew Ivory’s Allmar Surprise ($7, Kirby) picked up her third straight win and ninth of the year Wednesday at Harrington Raceway with a 1:56 win in the $21,700 Junior Open Trot.
Trained by Kirby, the 4-year-old Angus Hall exhibited her usual awareness from the gate and was sent for the lead. She set all the fractions and held off a late charge from LT’s Best for the win.
Monday will feature the richest program of the year at Harrington Raceway as nearly $1 million in total purses will be offered, including the headliner $322,000 Bobby Quillen Memorial Final featuring the likes of top aged pacers Mister Big, Foiled Again and Won the West. |
