DSBF Finals Conclude10/11/2023 6:23 PM - Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) 2-year-old stakes action wrapped up Wednesday at Harrington Raceway with two $110,000 trotting finals in the books. Breakaway Racing's Going Platinum ($34.20, Corey Callahan) sprung an upset in the first division with a 2:02.2 victory over heavily favored Daburg, who was previously unbeaten in 3 starts, and Platinum Proposal. The daughter of EL Platinum received a two-hole trip behind Daburg and responded to Callahan urging in the stretch to trot by the favorite for her first career win. Trained by Nick Callahan, Going Platinum boosted her lifetime bankroll to nearly $76,000. In the male trotting final, trainer Les Givens had 2 entries and finished 1st and 3rd as Nanticoke Racing's LG's Jaxon ($2.60, Jim Morand) was a 2:02.2 winner over Portnoy and LG's Bluestone. The Rolls Blue Chip gelding notched his 2nd straight win in front end fashion. Corey Callahan capped an 11-win week over the 3-day week at Harrington with 3 wins in the first 6 races, including a win in the $50,000 Allen J. Cook Memorial with Star Razor in 1:55. Owned by Nick Callahan, Yorwhollahan Racing and Greg Godbout, the 5-year-old Dejarmbro gelding was a front-end winner over Not For Moni and Secret Jet. It was his 5th win of the year for trainer Nick Callahan. Allan Davis joined Callahan with a driving triple. Trae Porter and Ross Wolfenden each had driving doubles.
