A new track record for 2-year-old trotting geldings was set when Nanticoke Racing's LG's Reed O Wen marched right to the front from post position seven and never relented in a 7-length romp in a lifetime best 1:59.4 over Canoe Trip and Wolfpack Russ. The Anders Bluestone gelding notched his 4th win in 6 career starts for trainer Les Givens. The old mark of 2:00.2 was held by Egosnattitudes (2014). In the filly trotting final, Art Stafford and Art Stafford Jr.'s Just Pump It led most of the way despite post position eight and was a one-length winner in 2:03 over Our Last Penny and Miss Timber Wolf. The CR Commando filly registered her second lifetime win for her trainer/driver and co-owner Stafford Jr. There were multiple tribute and memorial races on the program, including the 5th race for Delaware Secretary of Agriculture Michael Scuse, who has been a staunch supporter of harness racing. The 6th race was named for the memory of Wilma Chambers, who was a popular member of the horsemen community and wife of trainer Paul Chambers. The 7th race was named in memory of long-time racing officlal Allen Cook Jr, who was beloved by many in the industry and was a former horseman.
