DSBF Trotters TriumphThe opening round of Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) stakes action for 2-year-old trotters commenced on the Wednesday program at Harrington Raceway with four $20,000 divisions. The first winner came in the filly division when owner/trainer Thomas Leager's Deja Vu Blue ($4.40, Ross Wolfenden) was an impressive first-time starter winner in 2:02.1. The daughter of first crop sire Anders Bluestone, was a wire-to-wire winner over Bigger Than Luv and Uptown Spunk. It was the third win in the first five races on the program for Wolfenden. Owner/trainer Andrew Glassmeyer's Bosston Cruiser ($2.10, Jon Roberts) was a dominant 2:02.1 winner in the first colts and geldings division over Seafood Suzie Blue and King's Crown Lite. The Don Boss Vita gelding improved to 2-for-2 in his young career. In the final filly division, Chambers Racing,Cinbrew Ent., and Bcjm Inc.'s Vandalous ($14.20, Russell Foster) was a 2:04.1 winner over Alpine Chic and Ms Smash. A daughter of Jm Vangogh, Vandalous notched her first career win in her first lifetime start for trainer Nick Callahan. Stephen Moss' Super Fly ($2.40, Victor Kirby) prevailed in the final male division in front-end fashion in 2:01.2 for trainer Leigh Raymer. The Super Punk gelding led throughout and was an open length winner over Brother Kenny and Flywithme. Mike Casalino and Dylan Davis' Theresademoninme ($9.20, Jon Roberts) won the $15,000 Open Trot, the overnight feature on the program, in 1:55 over Awsome Valley and I Like My Boss. Russell Foster had four wins on the program. Roberts joined Wolfenden with a driving triple. |
