Scootin For Joy weathers slop, Morand and Brittingham win fourHarry Von Knoblauch’s Scootin For Joy ($4, Ross Wolfenden) notched her fifth win of the year Tuesday in 1:55.1 over a sloppy racetrack in the $17,000 featured Mares Open at Harrington Raceway.
The 4-year-old Western Paradise mare utilized her rail post draw to dictate the fractions and cruised to a four-length score over last week’s winner Paradise Lost and My Ideal Hanover.
Trained by Peter Tritton, it was the fifth win in seven starts for the winner.
Driver Jim Morand, who is closing in on 9,000 lifetime wins, had four winners on the program as did Bret Brittingham, who is approaching 2,000 career wins. |
