Traverse Seelster back to winning ways WednesdayKeith Pippi's Traverse Seelster ($3.40, Ross Wolfenden) defended his turf as Harrington Raceway's track record holder Wednesday with a 1:55.2 win in the featured $19,000 Open Trot over sloppy conditions.
The 5-year-old Angus Hall gelding assumed command early from leader Awsome Valley, who was bidding for his fourth straight win, to an opening quarter mile of 28 seconds. “Traverse” strolled through fractions of 57.1 and 1:26.4 and opened up three lengths in the stretch for his seventh win of the year. Awsome Valley held second while Skyway Priss closed ground late for third.
It was one of three driving wins on the program for Wolfenden. |
