Man About Town 2-for-2 at HarringtonDonato Poliseno’s Man About Town ($8, Ross Wolfenden) improved to 2-for-2 at Harrington Raceway by capturing the $20,000 Open Trot Wednesday.
The 7-year-old Self Possessed gelding made the front end early and set fractions of 28.1, 57.3 and 1:27.3 before holding off King Gus and Second Hand News for the win. The heavy favorite JM Vangogh made an uncharacteristic break in stride early in the race and appeared to have suffered an injury that was unknown at the time of this release. The injury was not believed to be life threatening. JM Vangogh, a 10-year-old Earl stallion, has earnings just shy of $2 million and has been a popular horse on the Delaware circuit for a number of years for owners Paul and Wilma Chambers.
Meanwhile, Man About Town had earned his third win of the season and second straight at Harrington as his lifetime earnings neared $700,000 for trainer Tony Poliseno.
Driver Jim Morand won four races on the program. |
