Frank Chick’s Stevie Hanover ($12, Montrell Teague) was a 1:52.4 winner in the $22,500 Mares Open Tuesday at Harrington Raceway.
The 4-year-old Betting Line mare pressured leader Bequeath near three-quarters and took command of the race and drew away for an open length triumph over Lil Miss Wondrphyl and Gogettermisscheddr. It was the 3rd win of the season for the Jamie Sullivan-trainee.
Ron Short’s Mackenzie Mac ($161.20, Shane Griffith) was a longshot winner in the 2nd race from post 8, hitting the wire first off a pocket trip for her 2nd career win.
Jason Thompson and Mike Cole each had 3 wins on the card. All of Cole’s wins came aboard Joe Columbo-trainees for owners George and Tina Dennis.
