Muscle Dynasty Relishes Sloppy Conditions, Wins Open Trot

Frank Chick’s Muscle Dynasty ($8, Tony Morgan) prevailed in 1:57.2 in the $18,000 Open Trot over a sloppy racetrack Wednesday at Harrington Raceway.

When the starting gate folded She Is Strong left strongly from her rail position, securing a two-hole trip behind Muscle Dynasty, who made the lead in an opening quarter in 28.4 seconds. The field was single file most of the way to the half-mile in 58.1 seconds while Dyladmar and Lindsey’s Pride headed up the outer flow to three-quarters in 1:27.4. Dyladmar put serious pressure on Muscle Dynasty in the stretch but would be re-buffed as Muscle Dynasty would remain on top for a half-length win. Dyladmar was a game second with Rivers third. Trained by Walt Callahan, it was the 4th win of the year for Muscle Dynasty, a 7-year-old Muscle Hill gelding.

It was one of four wins on the card for Morgan, who had a pair of victories for trainer Vincent Bradley.

In the sub-featured $14,500 winners-over trot, Swan Flyer ($9.60, Allan Davis) surged by in mid stretch to score a 1:55.1 win over Hustlenomics and Vlahos. The Tyler Davis-trainee notched his 2nd win of the season for owners J&T Davis LLC.

It was one of 3 wins on the card for Davis who joined Corey Callahan with a driving triple.
