Steve Manzi and Pie San LLC’s Remy Brown N ($2.80, Brandon Givens) won her Harrington Raceway debut in the $22,500 Mares Open in 1:53.1.
The 7-year-old Vincent mare had been racing in the northeast before entering the Joe Hunderptfund Jr. barn, where she promptly won her first start at Ocean Downs (Md.) on September 2 before a decisive score in her first start in Delaware Tuesday. Givens put the veteran mare on the front end and she responded with a powerful open length score over Stevie Hanover and Kairakiconfidntl N. It was her 5th win of the year and 23rd of her career.
The win was one of 7 on the program for the meet’s leading driver, Givens, who has a healthy lead in the driver standings over Art Stafford Jr. and Corey Callahan, who round out the top three.
Live racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule through October 21.
