Bobby Glassmeyer’s Sweet Angel Boy ($9, Ross Wolfenden) was a 1:52.1 repeat winner in the $18,000 Open Pace Monday at Harrington Raceway.
Captaincountrystar took the early lead before yielding to Sweet Angel Boy to an opening quarter mile in 27.1 seconds. The field of seven marched to the half-mile win 57 seconds with Steven Saloon and Joker On Jack on the outside to three-quarters in 1:24.4.
Sweet Angel Boy stayed on top in the stretch and achieved his second straight win over a fast-closing Steven’s Saloon, last week’s winner, and Captaincountrystar. It was the 4th win of the year for Sweet Angel Boy, a 7-year-old Sweet Lou gelding who is trained by his owner.
Jason Thompson, Bart Dalious and Allan Davis each had driving doubles.
