Captain Cowgirl Notches 1st Win As 4 Year Old05/23/2023 5:00 PM - Enterprise Holdings' Captain Cowgirl ($3.80, Ross Wolfenden) scored a 1:53.3 win in the $20,000 Mares Open Tuesday at Harrington Raceway.
The 4-year-old Captaintreacherous mare recorded her first win of the season in just her 3rd start with a pocket trip behind pacesetter Shecandance N, before emerging down the passing lane for a narrow win. Feeling Sweet closed ground late to finish second while Shecandance N was third. A top sophomore, Captain Cowgirl was a grand circuit filly who earned $324,916 last season for trainer Jim King Jr.
Jason Thompson and Allan Davis each had 3 wins on the card.
