Driver Brad Hanners had six winners Thursday at Harrington Raceway as the meet goes on a hiatus until July 29.
Hanners, who recently resumed driving duties after about a week break following an on-track accident, started the night hot by winning three of the first five races with Shardon’s Debutante ($2.20), Mattgician ($5.20) and Red Storm Rising ($6.40). He then won the ninth with Captain Casey ($12.20), 12th with Rustys Three Joys ($6.60) and 13th with Little Robear ($8.20).
It was the second time this meet Hanners registered six wins in one night. Racing will resume on July 29 for Governor’s Day during the Delaware State Fair, when Delaware’s top owned/bred horses will be in action with nearly $700,000 in total purses.
The meet will then resume its normal Sunday through Thursday schedule, following a special Saturday night of racing on August 14.
Driver Ross Wolfenden is the current leader in the driving standings, while Tim Crissman has a comfortable lead as the track’s top trainer.
