After spending most of his career in Michigan, Amy and Stewart Oldford’s Nordic Venture ($4.80, Vince Copeland) made his second Delaware start a winning one Wednesday with a 1:57.2 win in the $16,000 Junior Open Trot.
The 5-year-old Keystone Nordic gelding is also trained by Copeland. He earned his 22nd career win in just 58 career starts by taking the early lead from Upsidedown and never looking back in his two length win. Upsidedown held second while Stunt Man Hall finished third. 'Nordic' made his Delaware debut last Wednesday, with an impressive second place finish from post seven.
Drivers Tony Morgan, George Dennis, Art Stafford Jr., Victor Kirby and Copeland each had driving doubles.
