Richards Stable, Donna Sullivan and Judy Leonard’s Ray’s Big Bubba ($5.20, Ross Wolfenden) set a new track record Monday for 4-year-old stallions with a 1:51.4 triumph in a $13,000 conditioned pace.
The Badlands Hanover-sired ‘Bubba’ set all the fractions in his two length score. It was the first start of the season for trainer Scott Gregoire.
In the featured $20,000 Open Pace, Elizabeth Brittingham’s Art Gram ($4.60, Bret Brittingham) earned his fourth win in the last five starts with a 1:53.2 victory over Dontloseyourdayjob and Harlingen Hanover. The 6-year-old Dictionary gelding was a wire-to-wire winner, holding off a game first over charge from Dontloseyourdayjob throughout the back half-mile of the race.
Drivers Ross Wolfenden and Tony Morgan each won three races on the program.
